Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations

Program Components

The Healing Lodge provides several intervention strategies, including Motivational Interviewing. Comprehensive staff training is provided at least quarterly for both clinical and line personnel on the best practices for treating adolescents, with a strong cultural component for both the Native American and non-Native youth we serve. We are also accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF), this collaboration helps us mold our standards from the Chemical Dependency field, the input of those we serve, and assists in our ongoing self-evaluations leading towards meaningful changes. The Healing Lodge is also participating in a DASA initiative under a grant they received from CSAT, to learn and practice service improvement using evidence-based practices. This ties in well with our standards already in place around Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement, whereby staff participate in training and implementation of proven, Native American focused, adolescent-specific, treatment standards.

CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY

The Healing Lodge provides a minimum of ten chemical dependency education groups per week and ten process groups. These groups provide hands-on activities and patients are assigned a series of individual chemical dependency work from their Primary Counselor. These individual treatment plans derive from the information the Patient provides during the intake process and well as adapted to suit their needs as they progress in the program. Counselors are encouraged to provide unique and alternative techniques during individual sessions. Prior to the Patient's transition from the Healing Lodge aftercare planning and referrals are facilitated with the appropriate agencies and services.
