EDUCATION

The Healing Lodge complies with State requirements and regulations for patients. Our school is affiliated with District 81 of Spokane, Washington. The Healing Lodge School offers core curriculum subject matter to keep the residents current in their courses of study. Our school offers GED preparation and testing.

RECREATION

The Healing Lodge employs a Recreation Specialist to meet the recreational and fitness needs of the patients. This professional completes a physical assessment of each patient during the admission process. Recreation plays an important role in substance abuse treatment where youth are served, as an antidepressant. Recent studies support the information, however, this has been a well-known fact at The Healing Lodge for several years. The patients attend various sporting events and activities, events and activities at Washington State University at Pullman, Mariner's baseball game(s), and local events and activities.

CULTURAL

CULTURAL

Culture, spiritual awareness, and mindfulness are woven into every element of the program. The staff in the Culture Program works with each patient. To that end, no specific culture is promoted as each tribe has a unique cultural identity. The cultural component has tied all of the elements together and provided a solid foundation that benefits all working and living in The Healing Lodge community.

FAMILY

Alcohol and drug abuse affect not only the individual, but the entire family. This is especially true where youth are involved. Our Family Counseling Program provides outreach and counseling services to the family of those in treatment. The Family Group work with our Patients incorporates curriculum from the White Bison Sons and Daughters of Tradition program.
